Our Weathered Stone

There's something to be said about place, and how we arrive at our trades. For us, it's simple. We are working with the land that has been in the family for generations.

George grew up on this land with his large farm family, and since the 1980s, when he purchased it from his parents, he has been working with the land in many ways -- planting apple trees, growing and harvesting trees for lumber and firewood, and establishing a horse farm business. This is the beloved land where the limestone Weathered Stone Company LLC uses for landscaping and to build retaining walls comes from.

According to USGS, the limestone rock formations on our land formed roughly 485 million years ago between the Cambrian and Ordovician geological ages. That's serious stuff! And the cause of these rock formations is attributed to the presence of calcium carbonate -- meaning this land was under water. The moral of the story: Rome wasn't built in a day, and neither was your limestone wall!
